• “Hino Rei” can be translated as “fire soul”.
• The hand gesture Sailor Mars makes (fingers interlocked, index fingers raised and pressed together) is the “Rin” mudra of the Kuji-in ritual process.
• In her debut episode, Sailor Mars instinctively used Fire Soul without being prepped by Luna.
• This is one of the few senshi finishing moves, other than Sailor Moon’s, that single handedly killed an enemy in the anime.
• Sailor Mars sometimes combined her attack with Moon’s Moon Tiara Action, Mercury’s Shabon Spray, Jupiter’s Supreme Thunder or Venus’ Crescent Beam.
• In the television series, Fire Soul was last seen in episode 150. This aired before the release of the SuperS Movie, where a brand new animation sequence was created for the maneuver.
